After a retaining wall collapsed on the evening of October 24 at the construction site at the intersection of Zhuangjing North Road and Shengli 11th Road, another collapse occurred on the side near Zhuangjing North Road on October 26, creating a shocking large hole that has sparked public discussion and turned the site into an unintended attraction. For safety reasons, please do not approach the area to avoid danger.

The Hsinchu County Government urgently set up a command center to conduct an on-site inspection of the construction site situation, and after the inspection, listened to expert opinions on emergency repairs and discussed follow-up repair work. Given the repeated collapses at this construction site, pedestrians and drivers passing through this area are advised to exercise extra caution.

Contractors continue to backfill soil in hopes of reinforcing the stability of the collapsed retaining wall. Hsinchu Mayor He Ganming suggested immediately resolving the issue of groundwater extraction before proceeding with soil backfilling on the side of the site near Zhuangjing North Road, as well as subsequent road restoration work. Since Zhuangjing North Road is a major traffic artery in Zhubei City, authorities still hope to resume traffic as soon as it is safe. Contractors have also been asked to ensure proper traffic warnings and guidance for alternative routes. The shocking sight of this road depression has sparked widespread online discussion and turned the area into an unintended attraction. Passersby are urged not to linger in the area and to pay attention to safety.
