2015 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town Launches 3D Projection Christmas Tree

The 2015 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town will be held from November 20 to January 3, 2016, featuring a series of events spanning 45 consecutive days. This year’s Christmas Town showcases creativity by inviting a world-class team to create the world’s only 360-degree 3D light sculpture Christmas tree, along with six major highlights led by Finn and Jake from Adventure Time.

The much-anticipated Christmas main light show always brings different creative surprises every year. This time, the Christmas Town has gone international, inviting for the first time the world-renowned 3D light sculpture production company—The Electric Canvas (TEC) from Australia—to meticulously craft the “world’s only 360-degree 3D light sculpture projection Christmas tree.” TEC, which has produced the world’s largest light show event—Vivid Sydney, will for the first time perform 360-degree 3D projection on a conical column. This 3D projection Christmas tree will use high-spec projectors to project from 12 different directions simultaneously, maintaining high-brightness image quality throughout with a light intensity of 240,000 lumens—equivalent to the brightness of 24,000 iPhone flashlights turned on at once—presenting delicate animations in a 360-degree circular cone.

Starting November 20 with the lighting ceremony of the “2015 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town,” a fantastical Christmas tree main light show combining architecture, animation, 3D technology, and music will be performed every half hour from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM each evening, filling the scene with creativity and imagination.
