Tainan’s classic cityscape is loved by domestic and international tourists, and this beautiful city is about to unveil a new attraction, “o_Lake Waterfront Park,” which has generated much anticipation among both locals and visitors. Recently, the Tainan City Government held the “Fucheng Axis Belt Landscaping International Design Competition.” The results have been announced, with the top prize going to a collaborative team comprising Urban Creature Planning and Design, Architect Li Liru Office, and the Dutch firm MVRDV. This team will be given priority in undertaking the design and supervision of the project. In the future, Tainan’s China Town will be transformed into the o_Lake Waterfront space, revitalizing the canal waterfront area. Construction is expected to officially begin in mid-2016.
