Every town has something beautiful; you just need to pay attention to feel its charm. Focusing on the journey of wandering, stepping by step and appreciating the surroundings becomes a joy in life.
The Douliu Railway Station was originally called Tailifu. In 1903, the railway between Chiayi and Tailifu was opened to traffic. In 1920, during the local administrative reform, “Tailifu” was renamed “Douliu.” The current building was reconstructed in 1945 as a brick, slanted-roof, palace-style station, and it is also the last station built during the Japanese colonial period.

People in this world are not just passers-by but those who feel every bit of each day. Among the past visitors, which kind you belong to is something only you know best.
The idle freight warehouses next to Douliu Railway Station have been transformed into the “Tailifu Cultural Park.” A whole row of Melia azedarach trees along the warehouses blooms with light purple flowers every spring from March to April. Around Lunar New Year, the withered look of the trees presents a different kind of beauty.
The park mainly includes the Tailifu Life Aesthetics Museum, 68 Cinema, Environmental Education Hall, Tailifu Comic Museum, and Tailifu Picture Book Museum, making it a great destination for family trips. The Tailifu Life Aesthetics Museum offers insights into the cultural treasures of Douliu through local artists and traditional crafts. Although the space is not large, it is very helpful for first-time visitors to Douliu. The Yunlin Environmental Education Hall is an interactive multimedia exhibition that covers environmental education overviews, Yunlin’s diverse ecology, the environment of the agricultural capital, energy conservation and carbon reduction, water resource conservation and reuse, protecting our land, our streams, and environmental knowledge checks. The climbing area is a favorite among children. The 68 Cinema shows free films four times a day every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Zeng Jimei Incense Shop at No. 101, Zhongshan Road, Douliu Town, Yunlin County, has been in business since the 9th year of the Guangxu Emperor. Its appeal lies in its architectural features. After four generations, the advertising signboards have changed, but what remains unchanged is the sale of various worship supplies. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by the rich scent of sandalwood. However, as times change, the emotional connection to incense and joss paper has gradually faded. As the owner said, “When you can’t even make ends meet, you just go with the flow.” What’s unique about Douliu in Yunlin is the craft of making puppet props.Yanqing Puppet Carving Company & Ou's Home Puppet Cultural & Creative ParkUpholding both tradition and innovation, they not only preserve the artistry of traditional puppets but also customize them according to the needs of puppet troupe leaders, making puppet shows even more captivating.
