The three new high-speed rail stations in Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin officially opened in December. A recent online popularity survey site also released a list of the top 10 must-visit attractions at the three new high-speed rail stations, giving first-time travelers to Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin some direction—so get your plans ready and set off soon.

● Chienhu Mountain
Chienhu Mountain World is the most well-known amusement park in central and southern Taiwan and was also a popular choice for many graduation trips in the past.

● Bagua Mountain
Bagua Mountain is part of the Shan Shan National Scenic Area and boasts rich and diverse natural resources. Here you can see many species of birds and butterflies, and from the mountaintop, you can overlook the entire Changhua Plain as well as the scenery between the Taichung Basin and Dadu Mountain.

● Yunlin Gukeng Coffee
If you want to taste uniquely flavored Taiwanese coffee, you must visit Gukeng, known as the coffee hometown. In addition to enjoying aromatic coffee, there are also many nature trails nearby, making it perfect for a leisurely outing.
● Lukang Yilou
Yilou is a small attic in the Qingchang Ancient House. A starfruit tree planted beside the wall hints at a poignant love story. The ancient round windows of Yilou themselves symbolize completeness, while their decorative patterns alternate between gourds and ancient coins: the gourd sounds like “fortune” (福), symbolizing the wish for happiness, while the coin represents the desire for wealth. The interplay of gourds and coins creates an exquisite classical beauty.

● Tianwei Highway Garden
Tianwei Highway Garden refers to the stretch of highway along Provincial Highway No. 1 that spans Tianwei and Yongjing townships, featuring a wide variety of flowers. The “Chrysanthemum City That Never Sleeps” is the garden’s most distinctive feature. Due to the chrysanthemums’ short daylight requirement, farmers use nighttime lighting to control flowering times. When night falls, hundreds of lights on both sides of the road create a round-the-clock illuminated wonderland, turning the garden into a city that never sleeps. The viewing season runs annually from December to February.
