The viral leaning postbox, which became a hot topic in 2015 after Typhoon Soudelor hit Taiwan, can now also be seen at Taoyuan International Airport. In collaboration with Chunghwa Post, Taoyuan International Airport has moved the leaning postbox to the first-floor arrival hall of Terminal 2. To coincide with Christmas, and in harmony with the red and green postboxes, they’ve invited both domestic and international visitors to celebrate the holidays with a little lean.

The leaning postbox is a charming mistake left behind by Typhoon Soudelor. Originally located at the intersection of Nanjing and Longjiang roads, the red and green postboxes were accidentally knocked into a playful leaning position by a fallen signboard, sparking widespread discussion. Even international media covered the story, and it was recently selected by a major Taiwanese web portal as one of Taiwan’s top ten viral attractions of 2015. Recognizing the postbox’s popularity and cultural significance, Taoyuan International Airport partnered with Chunghwa Post to relocate it to Terminal 2, drawing delight from many visitors and adding a new photogenic spot to the airport.
