●2016Tainan Flower Festival (Feb 4–25)
The Tainan Flower Festival will be held from February 4 to 25, featuring vibrant flowers displayed at six locations: South District Shuiping Park, South District Shuijiao She Park, Xinying District Nan Ying Green Heart Park, Liujia District Multifunctional Sports Park, Jiali District Zhongshan Park, and Xigang District Central Park. This year, themed around the Year of the Monkey, the festival adopts the theme “Journey to the West,” showcasing Tainan’s cultural charm through the story of Journey to the West, along with joyful and festive New Year vibes. Visitors are welcome to explore this garden city during the New Year period and experience the diverse festive atmosphere in Tainan.

●2016Moon Lake Harbor Lantern Festival (Jan 31–Feb 28)）
The much-loved Moon Lake Harbor Lantern Festival this year takes “Moonlight Treasure Box, Shining Jinqing” as its creative theme. Art installations under moonlight showcase the charm of Yanshui, sparkling like treasure boxes. With light displays integrating the river harbor waterfront, village settings, and local Yanshui cultural features, the art is truly spectacular. This year, 45 artists from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and the Czech Republic have been invited to collaborate, presenting 40 creative lantern artworks and planning 60 main lantern pieces — the largest number in the festival’s history — offering a 30-day visual feast.

● Yanshui Beehive Rockets (Feb 21& 22)
Yanshui Beehive Rockets were previously selected by Australia’s Get Lost magazine as one of the “Top 10 Best Festivals in the World.” Experience at least once in your life the explosive power of the rocket fireworks — the blessing of the beehive rocket experience is believed to bring increasing fortune in the coming year.
