The person in charge of Taiwan's mermaid school was originally a photographer. After getting into diving and mermaid diving, they introduced the activity to Taiwan, opening the first mermaid school on the island in Kenting. They specially ordered mermaid tails from Germany that fit the body shapes of Taiwanese girls for students to experience. Each tail features a fin-like design. As long as you follow the instructors' guidance on movement techniques and safety knowledge, even non-swimmers can quickly get the hang of it and become mermaids gliding freely in the sea. Beyond offering a unique diving experience, the mermaid school also hopes to let people appreciate the beauty of Taiwan’s oceans.

A full-day course at the mermaid school lasts about 6 to 8 hours and costs between NT$13,000 and NT$15,000. In addition to comprehensive mermaid swimming instruction—teaching students how to safely undulate and swim in the water—the course also includes full photo services to help visitors capture unforgettable memories. Currently, aside from the Kenting location, a Taipei branch is also in the works.
