The warm winter caused by El Niño has disrupted the blooming schedules of many plants and officially kicked off the cherry blossom season in Wulai District, New Taipei City. After being ravaged by typhoons, Wulai District in New Taipei City has gradually regained its original appearance through the joint efforts of all sectors in reconstruction and restoration. This year, the flowering periods of mountain cherries in Wulai are staggered. While blossoms at Baoqing Temple have already bloomed, those in Xiaoyi, Xinxian, and Fushan areas are heavily budded and await their full bloom. This extends the cherry blossom viewing period, making now through March the best time to admire the blossoms in Wulai.

Wulai District offers a wide range of cherry blossom viewing routes, featuring dense, lush forests and meandering streams within the woods that remain cool and clear all year round. This provides diverse and enriching travel options, adding much charm to the experience. In February, cherry trees are already ablaze with crimson flowers, accompanied by green maples and sweet gums turning from yellow to crimson. Amidst this sea of yellow and red foliage, the brilliant cherry blossoms add a unique touch.
