With cherry blossom season in full swing, the Alishan area has been painted in delicate pink hues, attracting many visitors. In Chiayi City and County, beyond the cherry blossoms, magenta jacaranda trees are also bursting into vibrant bloom, sparking a flower-viewing craze across the region.

According to Huang Yuanming, a teacher at Alishan Xianglin Elementary School, who shared on his Facebook page “Strolling on Clouds in Alishan,” the most popular magenta jacaranda trees in Chiayi can currently be found along the fence of the National Chiayi Special Education School. They are visible from the Gaotie Elevated Road on Chuiyang Road, at the intersection with Taiwan Route 18 (Alishan Highway/ Shixian Road). The expected final viewing period is until March 6th. When the jacaranda first blooms, the flowers are a deeper red, but as they reach full bloom, the color gradually fades and petals begin to fall.
