Japan’s cherry blossom season has arrived, gradually painting various parts of the country in romantic shades of pink. According to weather map forecasts, the cherry blossoms in Tokyo are expected to start blooming on March 24, with full bloom on April 1. Everyone, get ready for cherry blossom viewing quickly. Tokyo’s famous cherry blossom spot “Nihonbashi” holds various events every year to coincide with the blooming of the cherry blossoms. In 2016, the events ran from March 18 to April 10, allowing everyone to enjoy the joyful atmosphere of spring.

Nihonbashi is also known by other names such as the “Cherry Blossom Avenue of Nihonbashi” and the “Edo Cherry Blossom Avenue.” During the cherry blossom blooming period, the area is specially decorated with a cherry blossom theme, blending traditional Edo-period charm to create a Japanese street infused with the spirit of cherry blossoms. Decorations, LED lights, and light projection technology are used to showcase the breathtaking sight of falling cherry blossoms. In addition, shops around Rokuban Bridge will also host “Cherry Blossom Bars” where you can enjoy fine food and drinks, as well as “Cherry Blossom Buses” that take you on tours of famous cherry blossom spots.
