Spring has arrived and flowers are in full bloom, and the romantic Calla Lily Season at Zhuzihu is also expected to kick off on March 18 and run for a month until April 17. The 2016 Zhuzihu Calla Lily Season is themed around stories from Aesop’s Fables, creating fun and engaging floral landscapes that allow visitors to enjoy the beauty of the blooming calla lilies.

The 2016 Zhuzihu Calla Lily Season “Aesop’s Lily Tales II” runs from March 18 to April 17, while the calla lily viewing period is expected to last until the end of May. During the “Aesop’s Lily Tales II” event, various farms weave classic fables such as The Tortoise and the Hare and The Boy Who Cried Wolf into amusing floral landscapes. On weekends during the Calla Lily Season, two free “Zhuzihu Ecological and Cultural Guided Tours” are held daily at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM. Visitors will gather at the Zhuzihu Entrance Parking Lot at the designated times and, under the guidance of tour leaders, visit attractions including the Penglai Rice Original Cultivation Story Hall, the Gao Family Ancestral Hall, the Shuiche Liao Trail, the Cedar Plantation, and Dinghu, gaining a deeper understanding of the local culture and ecology around Zhuzihu.

Regarding transportation, during the Calla Lily Season (February 27 to April 17), on holidays (including weekends), the Yangde Boulevard implements holiday traffic controls; the section west of Hutian Bridge in the Zhuzihu area, heading toward the Calla Lily Boulevard, enforces one-way clockwise traffic flow, with the one-way restriction on the Calla Lily Boulevard extending to the fork leading to Zhongzhengshan. Meanwhile, the section from Hutian Bridge to East Lake allows two-way traffic, while the Dinghu section is one-way only and prohibits U-turns, with detours via the newly built stone path leading to Yangjin Highway. Traffic controls in the Zhuzihu area are in effect from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends and holidays, with adjustments made flexibly based on actual traffic conditions.

1. Take Leisure Bus 128 or Mini Bus 8 from Shiba Station on the MRT.
2. Take Leisure Bus 129 or Mini Bus 9 (Taiwan Good Bus – Beitou to Zhuzihu Line) from Beitou Station on the MRT to the Zhuzihu area, or take Bus 230 to the Yangmingshan Bus Terminal and then transfer to Buses 108, 128, 129, Mini 8, Mini 9, 124, 131, or 131 District.
3. Take Bus 260 (including district and Flower Clock Line) from Taipei Main Station to the Yangmingshan Bus Terminal, then transfer to Buses 108, 128, 129, Mini 8, Mini 9, 124, 131, or 131 District.
4. Take Buses 260 (including district and Flower Clock Line) or Red 5 from Jiantan Station on the MRT to the Yangmingshan Bus Terminal, or take Leisure Buses 111 or the Flower Season Special Bus 127 to the Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot, then transfer to Buses 128, 129, Mini 8, Mini 9, 124, 131, or 131 District.
5. Take Bus 681 from Jiannan Road Station on the MRT to the Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot, then transfer to Buses 128, 129, Mini 8, Mini 9, 124, 131, or 131 District.
6. Take Leisure Bus 109 from Wanfang Community Station on the MRT to the Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot, then transfer to Buses 128, 129, Mini 8, Mini 9, 124, 131, or 131 District.
7. Take the Royal Bus “Taipei–Jinshan” Line from in front of the Gongbao Building on Park Road directly to the Zhuzihu Entrance.
Note: Buses 128 and 129 only extend their routes to Zhuzihu during the Calla Lily Season.
