The new Taroko Hello Kitty painted train set off on March 21. Aside from the high demand for tickets on the first day, fans who got their tickets through promotional raffles were particularly fortunate. The design of the Hello Kitty painted train became a major attraction. On March 18, Taiwan Railways announced the main visual featuring Hello Kitty as the train conductor, and on March 19, they also unveiled the design of the first run commemorative ticket card set, which delighted fans with its cuteness.

Operation dates of the new Taroko Hello Kitty painted train
March 25: Shulin = Zhiben, Train No. 426.
March 25: Zhiben = Shulin, Train No. 441.
March 27: Shulin = Yuli, Train No. 5236.
March 27: Yuli = Shulin, Train No. 5239.

Train Nos. 5236 and 5239 on March 27 opened for online booking starting at midnight on March 16.

Starting from Thursday, April 21, 2016, after schedule adjustments, Train No. 426 (Shulin = Zhiben) and Train No. 441 (Zhiben = Shulin) operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will be run by the "New Taroko Hello Kitty Painted Train."
