Shopping is a must-do activity for many during a trip to Japan. In May, Tokyo hosts the limited-time three-day "Tokyo Outlet Week" event, taking place from May 13th to 15th. At least 50 Japanese and international fashion brands are expected to participate, with items available at ultra-low prices ranging from 10% to 50% off. Based on past years' experiences, there’s a chance to take home products for as little as 1 yen.

The "Tokyo Outlet Week" first launched in 2015 and attracted tens of thousands of visitors, especially with multiple brand clothing accessories available for just 1 yen – a huge draw indeed. During the 2016 event, 500 hidden items were offered each day at a flat rate of 500 yen. Entry to daytime sessions was free, but participants had to register their email address on the official website (https://tokyo-outletweek.com/) beforehand. After registration, they would receive a QR code, which could be shown at the entrance to gain entry during the event.
