The Shan Chuan Glass Bridge, a popular attraction in the first quarter of 2016, often made headlines due to the relationship between large numbers of visitors and local residents. To provide a better and safer recreational experience at the bridge, Pingtung County Government closed the bridge from March 1 to April 15 for facility upgrades, and it reopened on April 16 with a fee for maintenance and management.

Visiting Guidelines and Hours
Weekdays Tuesday to Friday (closed on Mondays, except when a public holiday falls on a Monday, in which case it remains open): 09:00 – 16:00.Holidays (including public holidays and consecutive holidays): 09:00 – 17:00.
Access to the bridge is limited to 100 visitors at a time, so visitors must obtain a number ticket before purchasing tickets and entering. The number of tickets issued and the distribution times are announced by the Pingtung County Government.
Group Reservation Notes
In conjunction with the reopening, online group reservations are now available.
Daily reservation slots are at 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, and 15:30 — a total of 14 time slots. Group size limit: 30–50 people. Reservations must be made 3 to 30 days in advance. The same group leader may not make more than one reservation per month, and no more than two reservations can be made for the same day. Reservations and visits are not allowed on Mondays, except when a public holiday falls on a Monday, in which case it remains open (in line with the operating hours of the Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park).

Fee Schedule
1. Full price: NT$50.2. Concessionary rate: NT$40. Applicable to groups of 30 or more who would otherwise be required to pay full price.
3. Special discount rate: NT$30. Applicable to the following individuals:
(1) Residents of Pingtung County (with valid ID).
(2) Seniors aged 65 or above or Indigenous seniors aged 55 or above (with valid ID).
(3) Children aged 7 to under 12 (with valid proof).
(4) Volunteers holding a Volunteer Service Honor Card.
4. Free:
(1) Residents of Sandi Village in Sandimen Township, Beiyeh Village in Maolin Township, and Shuimen Village in Neipu Township (with valid ID).
(2) Individuals passing through for official duties and approved by the county government.
(3) Individuals with disabilities and one accompanying person (with disability ID card).
(4) Children under 6 years old (with valid proof).
