The popular Japanese cream bread shop “Hakutendo” has arrived in Taiwan. Since starting as a wagashi (Japanese confectionery) maker in 1933, it has built up an 82-year history. Six years ago, the third-generation owner took over and developed cream bread with thin crusts and generous fillings, making it one of Japan’s most popular bakeries. It sells over 40,000 cream breads a day — its popularity is beyond imagination.

At the end of November 2015, it launched a limited-time counter at B3 of Taipei Main Station, where it performed exceptionally well. On November 20, a permanent counter was set up at Banqiao World Guanghua Mall, also enjoying high daily popularity. In downtown Taipei, you can purchase it at temporary locations at Zhongshan Station and Taipei Main Station.

From March 22 to April 5, it will be available for a limited time at the Hokkaido Food Exhibition at Sogo Zhongxiao, selling Hakutendo cream bread made with fresh Hokkaido cream. An exclusive new lemon flavor will also be launched, available in limited daily quantities — one per customer. Buy five of other flavors and get one limited-edition lemon flavor — enjoy the delicious taste of Hiroshima lemons.
