The High-Speed Rail Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications is currently conducting safety tests and pre-operational trials for the airport MRT system. After improvements in speed and safety measures are completed, simulated operation drills will follow. At present, construction at Taipei Station (A1) of the airport MRT has been finished. A1, which intersects with the high-speed rail, Taiwan Railways, the Tamsui-Xinyi Line, Banqiao-Nangang Line, and Songshan Line of the Taipei Metro, as well as intercity bus services, is Taiwan’s most crucial transportation hub. Once operational, it will also serve as the national gateway for international travelers entering and leaving Taipei.

The Taoyuan Airport MRT is the fourth such system in Asia. Its opening will not only enhance airport services but also significantly improve convenience for tourists visiting Taiwan, while also expected to bring positive development and impact to the Taoyuan area.
