The Nanzhen Green Dyke, known as the Rhine River of Xinhua, has recently seen two bougainvillea plants in full bloom, adding a touch of purple romance to the greenway. The two bougainvilleas on Nanzhen Green Dyke have burst into vibrant purple flower clusters, and their fallen petals carpet the ground in a stunning purple hue, leaving visitors in awe. In May, when the golden rain trees (Cassia fistula) are in bloom, the Nanzhen Green Dyke will present yet another golden spectacle.

Zhang Zhengyuan, Director of the Tainan City Transportation Bureau, pointed out that the Green Trunk Line of the Tainan City Bus system has frequent services and dedicated bus signal phases along the route, making bus travel to Xinhua no longer time-consuming or laborious. Recently, Xinhua has restored a series of cultural sites in the Damiaojiang Cultural Park, including the Japanese-style wooden dormitory complex, the Damiaojiang Story House, the Yang Kui Literature Museum, and the Owei Film Memorial Hall, enriching the area’s historical and cultural depth. These sites are well worth repeated visits, and visitors shouldn’t miss the ever-changing beauty of Nanzhen Green Dyke throughout the seasons.

Transportation options to reach the Nanzhen Green Dyke at the Rhine River of Xinhua:
Take the Green 1, 2, 3, or 4 branch lines at Xinshi Railway Station, get off at the Xinhua Transfer Station, walk about 200 meters to Xinhua Old Street, explore the Damiaojiang Cultural Park along the way, and then walk another 100 meters south to the Nanzhen Green Dyke.
Take the Green 16 branch line at the High-Speed Rail Tainan Station, get off at the Xinhua Sports Park Station, walk about 100 meters forward to the Damiaojiang Cultural Park, and then another 100 meters south to the Nanzhen Green Dyke.
From the Xinhua Transfer Station, take the Green 13 branch line to visit destinations such as the Hutoupi Reservoir, the Xinhua National Botanical Garden, and the Ganglin Church.
With an electronic ticket card, passengers can enjoy a basic fare of NT$26 for the first 8 kilometers on trunk and branch lines, as well as a NT$9 transfer discount within 2 hours.
