With his bright yellow fur, laid-back personality, and love for human food, the beloved pet star “Garfield” is bringing his fun run to Taiwan Up！The “RUN！RUN！GARFIELD” Garfield-themed fun run, organized by the United Daily News Group and MEDIALINK, will kick off on July 10 at the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park in Sanchong, New Taipei City. Registration is now open.

The famous American comic “Garfield” captures the pet-as-ruler-of-the-household dynamic. The witty banter between Garfield, his owner “Jon,” and the dog “Odie” has made Garfield a household name. Not only does Garfield understand human emotions and behave much like a person, but this usually lazy cat has also jumped on the trending fun run bandwagon and become the star of the race. Even more, unable to resist the temptation of delicious food, he’s calling on runners across Taiwan to help him find his lost pizza and race toward the finish line of fun.

Garfield’s fun run footprint has stretched from Singapore and Malaysia to mainland China. This summer, he’ll continue the trend and run alongside his Taiwanese fans, making quick stops at popular tourist spots. Everyone who registers for the “RUN！RUN！GARFIELD” event will receive Garfield-themed giveaways: sweatshirts, sports towels, and drawstring backpacks. Finish the 5-kilometer race and take home a finisher’s medal！The organizers have also prepared additional lucky draw prizes, including Garfield-style instant cameras, New Era trend hats, and stylish T-shirts…

The United Daily News Group’s “Garfield Fun Run” will start on July 10 at the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park in Sanchong. The registration fee is NT$990 per person, and group registration is available for two or more participants.
