In addition to housing a museum that displays important cultural properties and artworks, Kōsan-ji Temple commissioned Japanese sculptor Kazuto Kouya, who is active in Italy, to design and build this marble garden — Future Mind Hill — nestled deep in the mountains. The pristine white garden, built against the mountain, is surrounded by lush greenery. Its elevated position offers a vast view, adjacent to the blue sea and sky, giving the illusion of being in a heavenly realm.

Future Mind Hill is themed around family bonds, aiming to express hope for the future and a vision of world peace. Kazuto Kouya, an environmental sculptor skilled at integrating sculptures with natural landscapes, brought back 3,000 metric tons of marble from Italy to create this garden. Everything from the "Tower of Light," which attracts many for photos, to the shape of the café and its tables and chairs, was personally designed and built by Kouya.
