The Garlic Fries are seasoned with garlic sauce, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and cilantro. The garlic comes from Gilroy, California—known as the "Garlic Capital of the World." The packaging alone releases a rich garlicky aroma, and the fries were an instant hit upon launch, unexpectedly selling out.

McDonald's stated that due to overwhelming consumer response, they plan to roll out the Garlic Fries to all 250 locations in the San Francisco Bay Area by August. While some suspect this is just a marketing ploy to stir up demand, there's no denying it has successfully created a McDonald's fries craze.
