Azerbaijan may be a country unfamiliar to many. Located in the Caspian Sea region of Central Asia, it has grown wealthy through oil production. In recent years, its capital, Baku, has actively developed various infrastructure projects, with skyscrapers dominating the city’s skyline. The under-construction “Azerbaijan Tower,” standing 1,050 meters tall with 189 floors, is expected to be completed as early as 2018, replacing the 838-meter Burj Khalifa as the new world’s tallest building. The entire construction project also includes 150 schools, 50 hospitals, and a 2,000-hectare master planned community, with an investment of $100 billion aimed at creating a futuristic city.
