Japan’s Five Dreamlike Trains for an Ultimate Luxury Experience

1. SEVEN STARS IN KYUSHU Kyushu Seven Stars Train

Dubbed the Ferrari of railways, the JR Kyushu Seven Stars train officially began operations in October 2013. It is a sleeper train launched by JR Kyushu that travels around the entire Kyushu Island and does not offer regular passenger services—it is only available for purchase through travel agencies offering packaged tour itineraries. The train consists of seven carriages, including a dining car and a bar, as well as high-end suites built to five-star hotel standards. It carries a maximum of only 30 passengers per trip, and reservations need to be made up to a year in advance, making it a dream train for railway enthusiasts.

The elegant carriage spaces, built from premium wood, include 14 suites, two of which are deluxe double suites that offer exclusive views through large windows. The train also features a restaurant and a bar, serving exquisite dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, allowing passengers to fully savor the local flavors of Kyushu.
