The results of the 2016 World’s 50 Best Restaurants have been announced, with the top spot claimed by the Italian restaurant “Osteria Francescana,” while the Singapore restaurant “Restaurant ANDRÉ,” helmed by renowned Taiwanese chef André Chiang, was ranked 32nd—moving up 14 places from last year’s 46th position.

Organized by the UK's Restaurant magazine, the list invites nearly a thousand international chefs, food critics, and gourmands to jointly select the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Dubbed the "Oscars of the culinary world," it is a highly authoritative gastronomic guide.

The Singapore-based restaurant "Restaurant ANDRÉ" led by renowned Taiwanese chef André Chiang secured the 32nd spot in the rankings. His Taipei restaurant "RAW" is also immensely popular and hailed as one of the hardest to book. With an exquisite dining environment, it combines Western flavors with creative, locally inspired Taiwanese cuisine—every bite is a delightful surprise.

Meanwhile, Tokyo’s kaiseki restaurant "Nihonryori Ryugin 龍吟," which ranked 31st, has also opened an overseas branch in Taiwan called "Shōun Ryūrin." It offers the pinnacle of Japanese fine dining, with menus that change according to the seasons, using modern culinary techniques to present a diverse range of flavor experiences.
