The first typhoon of the year, "Nepartak," is gradually approaching Taiwan. At 8:00 AM on July 5, it intensified into a moderate typhoon, with its center located about 1,800 kilometers southeast of Eluanbi. It is moving northwest at a speed of 28 to 32 kilometers per hour, heading toward the northwestern direction — that is, the eastern sea area of Taiwan. The Central Weather Bureau predicts that July 7 and 8 will be the closest approach to Taiwan. Whether it will directly hit the island depends on developments in the next two days.

The Central Weather Bureau states that future changes in the intensity of the Pacific high pressure will affect the typhoon’s path, and there are still many variables.
