Typhoon Nepartak, the first of the year, intensified into a strong typhoon at 2:00 AM on the 6th. Its center was located approximately 1,270 kilometers southeast of Eluanbi, moving rapidly northwestward. According to the latest path forecast from the Central Weather Bureau, Nepartak is expected to make landfall near Hualien and Taitung. A sea warning is anticipated to be issued at 14:30 on the 6th, with a land warning to follow at 23:30 the same evening.

The 7th and 8th will be the most severely impacted days for Taiwan, with the storm’s main impact zone covering areas north of central Taiwan, northeastern regions, and eastern parts. According to the latest meteorological data, the intensity of Typhoon Nepartak has slightly increased, and the radius of the storm has also expanded somewhat. The typhoon center is currently moving northwestward over the sea southeast of Hualien. Long waves are expected along the eastern half of Taiwan, the northern regions, and the Hengchun Peninsula coastline. Avoid visiting coastal areas and pay attention to transportation updates for travel to and from outlying islands.
