It's only halfway through 2016, but Taiwan has already seen the emergence of many refreshing new attractions, offering the public great places to relax on holidays—perfect for family outings. The editors have compiled a list of the eight most popular and talked-about new attractions. Those who haven’t been there yet should add these places to their travel plans as soon as possible!
1. Keelung Starry Sky Prairie

Inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting “Starry Night,” the Yongheng Cultural and Creative Park in Keelung recycled 4 million PET bottles to create a large-scale land art piece, which officially began trial operations with lighting on the 26th. Covering an area of 13,000 pyeong, the Starry Sky Prairie offers different visual experiences during the day and night.
2. Nantou Momotaro Village

Now when you visit Nantou, there’s more to do than just explore the Monster Village in Xitou. The brand-new themed attraction “Taiwan Film City Momotaro Village” has officially opened for business. Spanning a vast area of 5.8 hectares, the film city is filled with scenes from the Japanese fairy tale “Momotaro,” including a haunted house, a gassho-style village, a Japanese shrine, and streets. The realistic settings make you feel as if you’ve stepped right into the story.
