Inside an elementary school classroom, the big blackboard doesn’t display the teacher’s lesson plan but today’s special menu and the sources of the ingredients. This is “Hare to Ke Café T2” located in Tokushima, Japan – a café created from an abandoned elementary school campus, allowing every visitor to enjoy coffee and spend a leisurely afternoon in a place filled with childhood memories.

The owner of Hare to Ke Café T2 is a designer from Tokyo. His father is a barista, his mother is a pastry researcher, and his sister is a French patisserie chef. The whole family works together, and in 2014 they jointly established this uniquely distinctive café, offering their own roasted coffee and specialty dishes made with local ingredients.
