Longer than Taiwan's entire length — New Zealand plans a 500-km bike trail

Otago Province in New Zealand has recently launched a century bike trail project, aiming to connect four existing bike trails into one massive 500-km route. The project is expected to cost around NT$560 million.
According to Lonely Planet, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key stated that city bike trails are the best way for travelers to explore Aotearoa, the land of the long white cloud. The bike trails encourage visitors to stay longer and contribute to positive regional economic growth.

The bike trail stretches 536 km in total, offering breathtaking views such as those of the Clutha Mata-Au River and Beaumont Gorge.
