Ippodo Tea, a popular Kyoto matcha shop with over 180 years of history, officially opened its first overseas flagship store on July 27. Located in Zhongshan District, Taipei City, the store offers a daily limited supply of “matcha parfait,” as well as other takeaway items including matcha daifuku, matcha raw chocolate, and matcha cappuccino.

Established in 1832, Ippodo Tea specializes in matcha-related products. Its first overseas branch opened on July 27 in Taipei’s Zhongshan District. The dine-in area only offers the signature “matcha parfait,” while other takeaway items are sold in limited quantities. The previously available pre-order Uji matcha cake roll has sold out, with the second wave to be offered at the end of August.

The Taiwan Ippodo Tea store is open from 12 noon to 8 pm, Tuesday to Sunday each week, and closed on Mondays. All seating is on a first-come, first-served basis—no phone or online reservations are accepted. More matcha products will be introduced in the future, aiming to perfectly present an authentic Kyoto-style experience in Taiwan.
