From August 6 to 9, 2016, a four-day romantic festival takes place in Nanfang’ao for Valentine’s Day in Yilan. Every night at 7:07 PM, the cross-sea bridge will be illuminated, turning into a magical Magpie Bridge for Qixi. Enjoy the beautiful seascape and the vibrant charm of the fishing village as couples come together to spend a romantic night by the water.

The cross-sea bridge consists of 13 cables and has a deck length of 140 meters, symbolizing "one life, one lifetime." A special "Find Your True Love Code" game is set up on the bridge where you can create your own love code. There’s also a cultural and creative market, plus live performances such as concerts, letting you experience Yilan’s passionate local culture.

To prevent traffic congestion during the event, Yilan County Government provides “Love Buses,” offering free shuttle service between Su’ao Station and the Harbor Bureau every evening from 6 PM to midnight. On the opening day, August 6, and Qixi Festival on August 9, couples riding the Love Bus can participate in fun games for a chance to win a heart-shaped box of golden sand chocolate—999 boxes available, while supplies last.
