The fifth mild typhoon of the year, Omais, formed on the afternoon of August 4, about 2,800 kilometers from Taiwan. Its projected path is expected to head north toward the eastern waters off Japan. At present, Mild Typhoon Omais is moving at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour, heading northwest then turning north. It will not have a direct impact on Taiwan, but due to the influence of the Pacific High, high temperatures and heat will continue across the island, with temperatures in the northern region possibly exceeding 36 degrees.
