Running a low-cost airline is no easy feat. On August 9, V Air announced that it would suspend all flights starting October 1, with its last day of operation being September 30. Only the Chiang Mai and Fukuoka routes will be taken over by TransAsia Airways. It is expected that by the end of August, after TransAsia Airways completes the flight route applications, passengers' originally scheduled bookings will be transferred to designated flights on the same routes operated by TransAsia Airways, and they will be notified accordingly; passengers may also opt for a full refund. Online applications for refunds can be submitted via the V Air official website from now until September 15.

Additionally, for popular routes such as Osaka and Okinawa that many passengers frequently use, V Air will notify passengers via their provided contact methods. Route transfers will be completed by August 16, prioritizing assistance for passengers on the Osaka and Okinawa routes to transfer their bookings to designated flights on the same routes operated by TransAsia Airways on their originally scheduled dates. Those who choose a full refund can apply online via the official website, but must complete the process by August 31. Unconditional full refunds will be offered for the Bangkok, Busan, and Nagoya routes.
The news has drawn sighs of regret from many fans of V Air. In recent years, low-cost airlines have flourished, but competition has also become increasingly fierce. V Air’s cessation of operations not only affects passengers but also reflects the current state of low-cost airline development.
