For the sixth consecutive year, the annual Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Global Liveability Survey has named Melbourne, Victoria, Australia the “world’s most livable city.” At the top of the list, Melbourne is hailed as a center of Australian culture, shopping, music, and nightlife. Its unique laneways, parks, gardens, and creative communities have also received widespread acclaim.

Australia has long been one of the most popular travel destinations for Taiwanese visitors, and Melbourne has emerged as a key travel hotspot in recent years. According to the latest statistics from the Victorian Government, between April 2015 and March this year, approximately 48,000 Taiwanese travelers visited Victoria over the course of a year—an increase of 14.7% compared to the same period last year. The average length of stay for Taiwanese overnight visitors in Victoria also rose by 9.8% year-on-year.

In recent years, visitors to Victoria have explored beyond Melbourne to discover different regions of the state. At Healesville Sanctuary in the Yarra Valley, tourists can get up close to native Australian wildlife such as dingoes, kangaroos, and wombats.
