The special exhibition displays precious photos, such as those from May 1930 (Showa 5), when the Hikawa Maru arrived at Yokohama Port from the United States, showing the enthusiastic crowds welcoming it at the harbor — you can almost feel the jubilant atmosphere of the time. The exhibition also features the original design drafts from when the Hikawa Maru was built, which are extremely valuable. To this day, the Hikawa Maru remains afloat at sea, serving as a maritime museum preserved on the water. It is also the only large pre-World War II passenger-cargo ship in shipbuilding history, carrying deep historical significance. Aside from its beautiful daytime views, the Hikawa Maru’s nighttime scenery is also enchanting. Various events and performances on board are lively and exciting, adding even more romance to the atmosphere of the harbor and park.
