Typhoon Aere No. 19 (international name: AERE) is currently a light-strength typhoon. Although it has not made landfall in Taiwan, the maritime warning was lifted at 14:30 on the 6th. Affected by its peripheral circulation, rainfall has occurred across various parts of Taiwan. Regions such as Hualien-Taitung and Kaohsiung-Pingtung, as well as Green Island and Orchid Island, should be on guard against heavy rain. The Central Weather Bureau has issued a special weather warning.

The center of Typhoon Aere is located at 20.6°N, 116.3°E, moving slowly from northwest to northwest-west at a speed of 6 to 4 km per hour. The central pressure is 992 hPa, with the maximum near-center wind speed at 20 m/s and the maximum instantaneous gust at 28 m/s. The radius of the seventh-level wind zone is 120 km. According to the forecast track, travelers planning to visit Hong Kong in the coming days should also pay close attention to the typhoon’s movements, weather conditions, and flight statuses.
Due to the impact of heavy rainfall, Taitung County and Hualien County suspended work and classes on the afternoon of October 7. Influenced by the convective rainfall triggered by Typhoon Aere, regions including eastern Taiwan, northern, Taipei-Keelung-New Taipei, and Kaohsiung-Pingtung areas should also be cautious of heavy rain on Saturday, October 8.
