The Michelin Guide is a go-to resource for travelers around the world when choosing travel destinations. Recently, a new highway bus route launched in Japan has become the latest top choice for travelers planning a trip to Japan, as it allows visits to five Michelin three-star attractions in Japan’s Chubu and Hokuriku regions. Known as the “Japan Alps 3-Star Route,” this route made its debut at the 2016 Taipei International Travel Fair (ITF), which opened on November 4, attracting significant attention.

The “3-Star Route Shinjuku Ticket” is a discounted one-way ticket that allows visitors to tour five Michelin three-star attractions. Starting from the first stop in Shinjuku, Tokyo, the bus travels through the second stop in Matsumoto, the third in Takayama, and ends at the fourth stop, Kenroku-en Garden in Kanazawa City. This ticket also offers the option to disembark and stay at en route destinations such as the hidden gem of Hirayu Onsen and Shirakawa-go. Kanazawa City, located near the end of the route, has an international airport and Shinkansen access, making it convenient for further travel arrangements.
