Affected by the typhoon, multiple landslides occurred in Taroko, with roadbeds being hollowed out. The opening status of popular hidden trails has also been affected. The world-renowned and highly popular Baiyang Trail was damaged after Typhoon Megi. A section at 0.8K collapsed and the roadbed was severely eroded, with multiple falling rocks along the way. The trail was closed under management and only reopened in late June 2016 after five months of repairs. Now, it has been temporarily closed again. Other trails such as the Chongde Trail and Jioufen Cave Trail have also been closed due to typhoon damage.
