Taiwan is the second-largest market for Hong Kong tourism. The Hong Kong Tourism Board has always been committed to promoting overnight leisure travel. As of September 2016, there were approximately 1.5 million visitors from Taiwan to Hong Kong, including around 660,000 overnight stays, marking a 7.7% increase. Shirley Tsui, Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board in Taiwan, said: “Taiwan is the first overseas stop for the global promotion of the ‘Enjoy · Best of all, It’ brand. In addition to well-known shopping and food, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will further enhance the promotion of diverse ways to experience Hong Kong, encouraging travelers to explore the distinctive characteristics of different areas and the multifaceted tourism landscape of Hong Kong. We want them to enjoy the best of Hong Kong just like the locals do.”

The four exciting themed videos cover fashion, food, family trips, as well as nature scenes and culture. The first, a fashion-themed video, specially invites up-and-coming Hong Kong fashion designers to scour Hong Kong for fashion inspiration—from Sham Shui Po’s street style to the floral boutiques in Central, and finally to a designer showcasing their creations at a fashion event. The food-themed segment dives into the charm of Hong Kong cuisine. There’s also a nature and culture-themed piece highlighting Hong Kong’s lush landscapes and cultural highlights.
The Four Seasons Hotel, which actively participated in the filming of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s videos, has been specially invited to Taiwan this time to promote Hong Kong cuisine. Executive Chinese Cuisine Chef Chan Yan-tak from the Four Seasons Hotel is the first Chinese chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. Under his leadership, the hotel’s restaurant Lung King Heen has maintained its three-Michelin-star status for eight consecutive years since the first Michelin Guide for Hong Kong and Macau was published in 2009. His signature gourmet dish, “Abalone and Chicken Tart,” features slow-cooked South African abalone covered in a rich sauce and served in a sweet, flaky crust—melting in the mouth with layers of flavor, a proud creation by Chef Chan. Other must-try treats at Lung King Heen include “Black Caviar Smoked Salmon Crispy Rice,” “Black Truffle Crab Spring Roll Box,” and “Spicy Jellyfish Head.” All are freshly made daily by skilled chefs, epitomizing the essence of Hong Kong’s Cantonese cuisine.

Chef Chan of the Four Seasons Hotel recommends that when visiting Hong Kong, besides traditional Cantonese dim sum and fine dining, travelers should also sample a variety of authentic street snacks such as fish balls, egg waffles, and cheung fun. The unique cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style café) culture is another representation of Hong Kong’s vibrant energy and serves as one of the sources of his culinary inspiration. Travelers can also better appreciate the fusion of Eastern and Western influences in Hong Kong’s food culture.
