The sections under traffic control during the snow season are Provincial Highway 14A from Dayuling, passing through Xiaokoufeng, Hehuanshan Visitor Service Center, Wuling, Kunyang, Yuanfeng, to Cuifeng. Additionally,the Lunar New Year holiday period (January 27 to February 1), as well as every regular weekend and the Peace Memorial Day holiday period (February 25 to February 28), are designated as the “key periods for snow season controls.”The control methods are as follows:

◎ During the snow season, if it is snowing or there is snow accumulation, traffic control will be implemented. If there is no snow or snow accumulation, traffic guidance will be in place.
◎ During the traffic guidance period, from Dayuling to Hehuanshan Visitor Service Center and above Cuifeng, vehicle passage will be flexibly allowed depending on parking availability at both ends (Yuanfeng, Wuling, Kunyang, Xiaokoufeng) and traffic congestion conditions.
◎ During the snow season, if it is snowing, snow is accumulated, or roads are icy, according to traffic control information released by the highway authority, all types of vehicles except official vehicles and snowplows are prohibited from entering. During emergency snowplowing operations, the section will be completely closed. After snow removal, snow chain-equipped vehicles may be allowed to pass depending on snow and road conditions. However, all types of motorcycles (including large heavy-duty motorcycles) are strictly prohibited from entering the controlled section.

◎ When it is snowing, snow is accumulated, or roads are icy, Class A and B buses and trucks over 3.5 tons are prohibited from entering the controlled section. When there is no snow or snow accumulation, flexible control will be applied according to current regulations.
◎ During the snow season, when roads are snow-covered or icy,from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM the next day, predictive closure of the controlled section may be implemented based on actual conditions. If night closure is required due to snowy roads, relevant information will be confirmed by 3:00 PM on the same day.
◎ On the section of Provincial Highway 14A from Wuling to Hehuanshan Visitor Service Center, due to steep slopes, sharp turns, and high risk of icing, parking is prohibited on the cliff side to maintain traffic flow and safety.

Visitors are reminded to check snow and road conditions before heading up the mountain to enjoy the snow. In addition to understanding your own physical condition and preparing cold-weather gear, also check whether your vehicle is suitable — such as whether it is old, has sufficient horsepower, is four-wheel drive, and whether it has adequate oil, water levels, and anti-freeze capabilities.
