Coin-operated Milk Tea Vending Machine in Fengjia - Traveler’s Tea

The milk tea vending machines in Taichung are truly endless—new ones keep popping up one after another, keeping adventurous drinkers super busy, XD. What sets this one, “Traveler’s Tea,” apart from other milk tea vending machines is that it specializes in Thai milk tea!

Most of Taichung’s milk tea vending machines are concentrated around Yizhong Street, but “Traveler’s Tea” is located in the Fengjia shopping district... The exact address is: No. 279, Section 2, Henan Road, West District, Taichung City, right near the intersection of Henan Road and Fuxing Road. Here's a Google Map link for reference!

Also attaching a Google Street View image—the correct location of “Traveler’s Tea” is right in front of BENQ... “Traveler’s Tea” is a brand started independently by a young fan named Alice. She emailed me hoping I could help try her drink and give feedback... But as you all know, I usually stay home taking care of my family, and with the hot weather lately, it’s really not ideal to bring little kids out to queue up... Plus~ I feel a bit embarrassed doing things like lining up at my age... XD So she had the Thai milk tea delivered to my home by courier (how thoughtful!). This post is published as a fan service to help promote her business, because I just can’t bear to see young entrepreneurs struggle so much (this is a one-time feature, no more after this!).

Classic Thai Milk Tea - NT$50

Each can is 400ml, about the same as typical drinks on the market... The can used by “Traveler’s Tea” looks similar to the one from “Mingliu Tea House” mentioned in a previous article—we can say great minds think alike, huh? But “Traveler’s Tea” “only” sells one flavor: Thai milk tea, Up!

Made with Thai tea leaves boiled down, then mixed with condensed milk and fresh milk—it’s a flavor that’s relatively rare in Taiwan’s milk tea vending machine scene... Thai milk tea has its fans and detractors in Taiwan. Personally, I love it, but I also feel it’s a bit too sweet...

The taste of “Traveler’s Tea” is a bit lighter than what we usually get with Thai milk tea in stores. I personally think it would be better if it were a bit richer... But for those who are wary of sweetness, this level might feel less heavy... Joyce mentioned they’ll adjust the taste of the milk tea, so the version others get may differ from what I tasted... Additional note: When I tried the adjusted flavor again on June 3, I felt both the milk and tea elements were perfectly balanced, and the sweetness was just right. I gave another bottle to a friend, and he liked it a lot too...
