This strong cold air mass is primarily affecting areas on the Sea of Japan side. Regions in Japan’s Hokuriku area, such as Kanazawa and Niigata, will see temperatures drop to between 0–5 degrees Celsius, entering conditions of heavy snow and snow accumulation. Although weather on the Pacific side remains relatively clear, some areas will experience temperatures dropping below zero. Tokyo will also see temperature fluctuations exceeding 10 degrees, with early mornings and nights staying around the freezing point. Travelers planning to visit Japan in the near future should pay special attention to low temperatures and snowfall updates, dress warmly, and those opting for self-drive tours should be especially cautious about road and weather conditions before driving.
