The Xiàfú Civic Activity Center in Linkou was built using local community feedback funds and involved collaboration with a Spanish architect and hisIMOteam. Drawing inspiration from the ornate roof ridges of traditional temples, the design cleverly incorporates elements such as roof tiles and the yin-yang angles of water spouts into the building’s silhouette. Coupled with the architectural team’s expertise in Western light and shadow techniques, it completely redefines the conventional image of civic centers, delivering a fresh take on centuries-old traditions.
