The long-established wedding banquet hall in Taichung may not be unfamiliar to locals, but it has now been transformed into a Western antique museum. The New World Club in East District, Taichung, has been renovated into a dazzlingly opulent museum, not only transforming its exterior into a white-toned, Western-style facade, but also creating an interior that feels like stepping into a classical European castle. Inside, there are over a thousand privately collected pieces, featuring twenty major Western antique themes with a total market value of hundreds of millions, including items from Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Recently renovated and newly opened, the museum spans over 700 ping, with a French restaurant on the first floor, a Hong Kong-style dim sum and wedding banquet venue on the second floor, and breathtakingly intricate ceiling paintings. Currently free to visit until January 27th, visitors are encouraged to take this opportunity to explore.
