Dadaocheng was once a hub of economic, social, and cultural development that surpassed the rest of Taiwan, bustling with commerce and rich in intellectual and artistic life. Over time, it has now become a historic site in Taipei, the most famous of which is the century-old Dihua Street — the best-preserved old street in the city.
