In recent years, the LEGO craze has swept the globe along with the release of movies, and related themed merchandise has also become a hot topic. The world’s eighth LEGO theme park will officially open on April 1, 2017, in Nagoya, Japan. The last LEGO theme park located in Asia was LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, which opened in 2012. Japan’s LEGOLAND covers an area of 9 hectares, featuring over 40 types of rides and shows, and utilizes more than 17 million LEGO bricks and 10,000 models.

Japan’s LEGOLAND incorporates many elements unique to Nagoya, featuring seven themed zones: Miniland, LEGO City, Pirate Shores, LEGO Kingdom, Adventure Land, LEGO Ninjago World, and Asia’s most comprehensive LEGO Factory. Additionally, there is a 2.1-meter-tall model of Nagoya Castle made from approximately 225,000 LEGO bricks, which is expected to become a new landmark.
