With the invention of drones, aerial photography has become the new darling of the photography world, opening up fresh perspectives. A company based in Shenzhen, China — DJI Innovations (DJI), known globally for its innovation and quality, leads the commercial drone market. To celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016, DJI held an aerial photography competition called the SkyPixel Photo Contest, the largest of its kind in the world. The contest was divided into professional and amateur categories, with three themes per group, making six categories in total. It received a total of 27,000 entries from 131 countries, demonstrating that the aerial photography craze is far from fading. Recently, DJI announced the competition results, with photographer Zheng Ge’s work “Fishermen Close the Net” winning the grand prize. Below are the winning entries from each category:
