After this news was shared and spread on social media, many consumers were shocked. The information from a franchisee, after being widely circulated and commented on, led Luisa Coffee to issue a statement on February 21, officially confirming that it will continue to use Guang Quan fresh milk and will not collaborate with Wei Chuan. The statement was also posted on the official website to reassure consumer confidence.

Luisa Coffee has expanded rapidly, surpassing 250 stores in 2016 and aiming for 300. It also launched a new store concept, “The Third Wave Coffee Da’an Forest Park Branch,” which officially opened in January 2017. This “milk switch controversy” has drawn more attention to Luisa Coffee. With rapid expansion comes greater demand for fresh milk, posing future operational challenges, while consumer rights and perceptions also need greater attention.
