Eye-catching 3D立体 Colorful Staircase – A New Attraction Combining Art and Temples

As the trend of colorful street art grows, murals of all kinds can frequently be spotted in street corners, alleys, temples, and older neighborhoods, injecting fresh energy into these traditional districts. Located in Qianjin District, Kaohsiung, the nearly 100-year-old Qianjin Temple Wanxing Palace is the first in Taiwan to feature 3D paintings on the steps leading up to a temple. The vivid, three-dimensional auspicious dragon spans a staircase that is 12 meters wide and 9 meters high, hand-painted over the course of more than a month by a 3D mural artist. It is considered the only 3D painted dragon of its kind in Taiwan, blending modern aesthetics with traditional cultural elements and leaving visitors amazed.

This temple has a history of 300 years, so Mei Zi made a special trip from Taichung to Kaohsiung just to see Wanxing Palace.

And there it is — the 3D colorful painted dragon, meticulously hand-drawn by Artist Tu Long over the course of more than a month, finally appears before my eyes. When I saw photos online beforehand, they didn’t have the same impact, but seeing it in person was truly breathtaking. The artist’s skillful hands brought the dragon to life with such realism, exuding a supremely majestic aura that made me want to stay and admire this incredible artwork for a long time.
