A dazzling million-dollar night view & the legendary fairy’s footprint

Camping has become one of the favorite travel activities for many visitors in recent years. With Taiwan’s abundant natural landscape resources, camping has become even more appealing. Located in Zhushan Township, Chiayi County, the Fairy’s Footprint Scenic Camping Area not only offers a breathtaking million-dollar night view, but also boasts a long-standing cultural landmark steeped in legend. The Fairy’s Footprint is a massive rock, visually estimated to weigh at least 300 metric tons. Its summit features over 60 indentations resembling horseshoe prints. Legend has it that these were left by immortals—both male and female—who paused here during their journey across the skies. Another tale suggests that various immortals once gathered to duel and practice their magical arts on this very rock. Their overwhelming spiritual power left deep gashes in the hard stone. Regardless of the stories’ credibility, this site has become a local point of faith. It is widely believed that the rock is imbued with spiritual energy, and regular worship has become a traditional custom.
